Hello John!
I have been a longtime fan of you and your music, and just can't find any Concert Schedule were you might appear.
Living in Huntsville has been good as we have a lively performance schedule in our new Algonquin Theatre.
Saw Oliver Jones two nights ago, last night went to see Holly Cole and today at a Matinee we had an all Mozart Concert.
I do have some of your CD's and I see in one of the covers ( King of Ragtime ) references to CDD400 Rags to Richesand also CDD397 Scott Joplin's Greatest Hits.
If these CD's are still available and you know where I could get them I would be much obliged.
Besides yourself, my favorites are Max Morath, seen him live when I lived in ST. Louis,
Bob Darch, saw him also live just before he passed on. Rifkin, what a touch, Mimi Blais, and a few more.
Perhaps I hear from you,

I just received the CD of the complete Scott Joplin rags for Xmas (which I requested) and I'm listening to it now as I write you.
I recently started playing the piano again after a 25+ year hiatus and I've been working on the Joplin rags.
I wanted a CD of Joplin rags to play in my car so I could become familiar with the way the rags are supposed to be played thus making my car trips a bit more useful (and pleasant).
Until I heard your recordings tonight I was only familiar with the Rifkin ones (purchased umpteen years ago). I absolutely love your interpretations and I'm quite inspired. I'm sorry to admit that I was not familiar with your piano recordings so I looked you up on the web, found this site and while perusing it, wound up on your guestbook page. It will be a very late evening tonight because as soon as I finish listening to your recordings, I'm heading for the piano. What I've found most exciting is that these recordings are complete and there's new rags I've never heard before and probably would never have thought to try them out. If I hadn't heard Rifkin or my father play them before, I would never have known they existed even though I have the sheet music from the New York Public Library edition. Sorry this is long.
Just wanted to let you know how much I'm enjoying your recording of the complete Joplin rags.

John -- I really enjoyed meeting you and hearing you play this weekend at the West Coast Ragtime Festival. I'm the one who asked you about your ragtime Beatles CD, and you said you didn't think there were any left, but that I should email you about it anyway. So here I am. If you can locate one, I'd be pleased to buy it from you. Meanwhile, as I write this from my room in the Red Lion Hotel in Sacramento, my computer is playing "The Things I Love," and I'm enjoying it immensely!
Long may you wave!

Dear Mr. Arpin,
Just a few words to thank you for the many wonderful happy hours you have given me when I listen to your
CD's.
I have been trying to buy CD's in music stores for several years now - but have not had any success.
This morning I was fortunate to find your web site - and I am hoping I will be able to obtain some.
I have just gone through a stressful period in my life - as we all do from time to time - and every evening I play the
CD's which I am fortunate enough to have - and your music gives me so much pleasure that the stress after a few songs has been completely released.
The Indians have a proverb that goes something like "When you go to sleep each night think of who you have made happier through your life this day".
This is just to let you know that you have made me very happy for many many days.
I sincerely wish that the happiness you have given to so many is returned to you tenfold.
Thank you again

Hello John,
A few weeks ago, I found a copy of your CD "Somebody Loves Me" in the bargain bin at a store, a closeout at $1. To tell the truth, I hadn't heard of you before, but I like Gershwin and for a buck, I took a chance.
By now, I have listened to the CD dozens of times - my CD player auto-repeats at the end, and I frequently let it repeat all evening. You have such great style and technique!
I like all the selections, and the medley at the end is a stupendous showpiece. Count me as a new fan.

What a surprise to find your website in an ad in the Toronto Star re your upcoming concert at the Jane Mallet Theatre, Toronto on 13th November 04.
Unfortunately I lost track of you over the years so I am happy that at least you are in the circuit once again.
I have many fond memories going back to November 1978 when I filled in on drums for a week for Dean McDonald during your appearance at the Chelsea Inn. Although I did catch one of your Sunday afternoon concerts at the McMichael Gallery, Kleinburg, sometime during the early 1990's. I will try to contact you directly via email to discuss old times and renew our
acquaintance. I hope to be able to attend your concert on the 13h November at the Jane Mallot theatre.

Hi John,
I don't know if you will remember me but during the middle to late 1970's I
used to tune your piano when you were playing at the Chelsea Inn (Also at
your home on Bayview, north of Shepard Ave).
I was just thinking of those days and I wondered what you were doing these
days. I decided to find out if you had a website, tried "John Arpin" and
magic, there you were.
Looked in your Photo gallery, Hmm, not any older? Very distinguished.
Anyway, I retired from the North York Fire Dept. 15 years ago and moved to
the Lindsay area. My second "career" was a Bingo Caller in Lindsay. A
dangerous occupation.
I hope everything is well with your family, I would imagine your daughter is
all grown up and on her own by now. Like my kids.
Maybe you may come to Lindsay some day. We have a great place for concerts
called the Academy Theater. Take care John
